Following the rabbis' instructions, one must destroy the pamphlets without reading them
A new wave of the apostatic, impure pamphlets, hiding behind the name "True Knowledge," is now being distributed to mailboxes in Charedi areas throughout the country. They come in stamped envelopes bearing the name and address of the recipient. According to instructions of the rabbis, publicized several times, one should not open the envelopes; they should be destroyed while still sealed.
Because of the repeated warnings in the Charedi press not to open the envelopes (in accordance with the rabbis' ruling), the senders of these abominable pamphlets have left any identifying signs off the envelopes. Therefore the public is warned that the innocent looking pamphlets, which seem to deal with halachic pilpul on the topic of "shemita and Jubilees," are really full of nonsense and the most serious apostasy; just reading them will be considered a most serious sin.
Behind the publications are two former "returnees to religion" from the north of the country who strayed again and went out into an evil culture. They have set a target for themselves of causing Charedi people to sin by thinking apostatic and heretical thoughts. To achieve this, they use Talmudic and halachic issues, distort them, and create a false screen to serve as background for their false opinions. Due to the learned smokescreen in which they dress their words, extra warnings must be issued against the danger lurking therein, and young and old alike are cautioned to keep from even peeking the least bit. Also, one should immediately destroy the material when it is distributed in public places, such a synagogues and yeshivas. It should not be thrown in the trash nor, G-d forbid, placed in a genizah. It should be burned outright.
